  • Her parents made her try several sports, but she liked tennis the best.
  • She started playing tennis regularly at the age of 7.

  • A few years later, her family moved back to Canada. She started playing tennis at the “Ontario Racquet Club” in Mississauga.

  • She won many other low-level tournaments in 2014, and she ended the year with winning the Orange Bowl in Florida.
  • In 2015, she made her International Tennis Federation (ITF) debut with the 25K Gatineau event, but she lost in the finals.
  • In December 2015, when she was just 15 years old, she became the first Canadian since 2009 to win the “Under-18 Orange Bowl”, which is a Grade-A tournament.

  • In 2016, Bianca won her first ITF title at the “2016 Challenger Banque Nationale de Gatineau”.
  • Bianca is good friends with the Romanian tennis player, Simona Halep. In 2016, Simona persuaded Bianca to turn pro as soon as possible. She also considers Simona as her idol.

  • In 2017, she won 2 “25K” titles. She also took part in the “Citi Open” in the United States. During her second round, she became the first player born in the 2000s to beat a Top 20 player, after she defeated World No. 13, Kristina Mladenovic.
  • The year 2019 proved to be a breakthrough year for Bianca. She won her first “WTA 125k” title at Newport Beach, US. She also reached the semifinals of the Mexican Open. This took her ranking to a career-best of World No. 60.

  • In March 2019, she defeated Angelique Kerber to win the 2019 “BNP Paribas Open” held in Indian Wells, California. It was her first WTA Tour title. It also improved her ranking to 24.

  • On 11 August 2019, she got the biggest victory of her career when she won the 2019 Rogers Cup (Canadian Open) against Serena Williams. It was a historic day as Bianca became the first Canadian to win the Canadian Open since 1969.

  • On 8 September 2019, she defeated Serena Williams again in the US Open. She also became the first Canadian woman to win a Grand Slam singles title, the first woman to win the US Open in her debut, and the first player born in the 2000s to win a Grand Slam tournament. This win also made her the World No. 5.

  • After her US Open victory, the Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau, congratulated her on Twitter and stated that she made the whole country proud.
