- Jayshree Gadkar was a popular Indian actress who is best known for portraying “Kaushalya” in Ramanand Sagar‘s epic television series Ramayan. She is also known for her contribution to the Marathi cinema.
- She belonged to a Konkani-speaking family of Maharashtra.
- She was very passionate about dancing and acting since her childhood.
- She entered the film industry as a child dance artist.
- In her debut Bollywood film, V Shantaram’s ‘Jhanak Jhanak Payal Baje’ (1955), she appeared as a group dancer alongside leading lady Sandhya.
