  • Her first international match was in 2016 when she scored 47 runs against South Africa. Later, she got some injuries, due to which she had to stop playing.
  • In 2017, she was not chosen as a part of the Australian squad for the Women’s Cricket World Cup. She received a call from Australia’s squad for the Women’s Ashes for the World Cup. She was included in both the WODI squad and the Test squad. On 26 October 2017, in the match between Australia and England, she took her first international wicket in the second WODI match.

  • In April 2019, she received a contract with the National Performance Squad from Cricket Australia for the 2019-20 season. When she was part of the squad, she used to travel to different countries with the ‘A’ team even when she was not playing.

She scored 2 runs and bowled two overs giving 24 runs during India’s innings.  The news broke out at the time of the coin toss, and Indian skipper Harmanpreet Kaur was worried about her team. In an interview, she said,

    There was no time to react since the Indian team only found out about it at the toss. Obviously there was concern but it is the decision of the authorities. We were OK because she (McGrath) wasn’t very ill, so we just decided to play. We had to show the sportsman’s spirit. We’re happy that we didn’t say no to Tahlia because that (missing the final) would have been very hard-hitting for her.”
