• Gourav Vallabh grew up in different cities of Rajasthan.

• He hails from a family of academicians.

• Gourav was good at studies since childhood. He also actively took part in various extra-curricular activities like debates and declamations during his school and college days.

• In 1999, Gourav cleared the State Level Eligibility Test (SLET) from Rajasthan Public Services Commission (RPSC).

• In the same year, he also cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) from the University Grants Commission (UGC).

• He is a Certified Financial Risk Manager from the Global Association for Risk Professionals (GARP), USA.

• He has been working as a professor at the Xavier School of Management (XLRI) since November 2003.

• From November 2009 to December 2010, he served as a director at The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, New Delhi.

• Gourav contested for the first time in 2019 from the Jamshedpur East constituency in Jharkhand on a ticket of the Indian National Congress. He gained 18,000 votes, securing the third rank after Raghubar Das and Saryu Roy.

• In the 2023 Rajasthan Assembly Elections, Gourav contested from the Udaipur constituency. He lost the election to Tarachand Jain of the Bharatiya Janata Party by 32,000 votes.

• He came into the limelight after his debate video with BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra went viral on the internet. During the debate, when Sambit Patra was talking about Modi government’s target of a 5 trillion economy, Gourav questioned him if he knew how many zeros are there in 5 trillion. When Sambit failed to answer the question, Vallabh himself answered.

• Gourav Vallabh resigned from the Indian National Congress on 4 April 2024 giving reason of caste census. He said that he prayed to Lord Shri Ram and could not speak against Sanatan Dharma. He said,
  

  I can neither raise anti-Sanatan slogans nor abuse wealth creators day in and day out. Therefore, I resign from all posts and primary membership of the party.”

• On the same day, he joined the Bharatiya Janata Party.
