- Laloo Prasad Yadav completed his education in Saran after which he started working as a farmer.
- He later started working as an assistant (taid aka munshi) for a private firm at the Sub Divisional Office, Marhowrah.
- He was inspired by Kaka Joginder Singh (1918-1998) to contest elections. Singh had fought and lost more than 300 elections.
- He later got popular for being the namesake of Lalu Prasad Yadav, the popular politician of Bihar.
- He has contested several elections including MLC (Member of Legislative Council), MLA (Member of Legislative Assembly), and MP (Member of Parliament) in Bihar.
- In an interview, he revealed that RJD Supremo Lalu Yadav blamed him for the defeat of his wife, Rabri Devi, in the 2014 general elections from the Saran Lok Sabha constituency as voters got confused about his name. He got around 10 thousand votes in that election.
