ControversiesIllegal property sale

In 2007, he claimed that then Kerala Public Works Department (PWD) Minister TU Kuruvilla scammed him of Rs 6.7 crores. He claimed that he did a deal of 50.52 acres of land to open his hotels but he later found that he could not do any construction on the land as it belonged to Cardamom Hill Reserve (CHR) land in Rajakumari, Idukki district. Abraham later said that the minister was neither giving him any alternate land nor returning him the money. Kuruvilla later resigned from his post as a minister.

Criticizing politicians

In February 2023, he criticized politicians of Kerala and said that he would not donate funds to any political party. He claimed that many NRIs have donated to the Chief Minister's Distress Relief Fund (CMDRF) but the funds have not reached the deserving people. Abraham also said that he regretted voting for Left Democratic Front (LDF).
