- Himanshu started his career in the film Industry through music videos which includes Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s Afreen Afreen (1996) with Lisa Ray. He was also seen in Sonu Nigam’s Deewane Hoke Hum (2000) with Sandali Sinha.
- Himanshu gained recognition in the Bollywood from a romantic film Tum Bin (2001) in which he portrayed the character of Abhigyan, a wealthy Canadian industrialist.
- In 2003, he played lead in the film Khwaish opposite Mallika Sherawat. The came into limelight due to its sensuality and kissing scenes.
