Some Lesser Known Facts About Sid Eudy
- Sid Eudy grew up in Arkansas and worked as a farmer. He was also studying to become a pilot.
- He started wrestling after meeting noted wrestlers Randy Savage and Lanny Poffo in 1987.
- In his debut match, Sid Eudy teamed up with wrestler Austin Idol against Nick Bockwinkel and Jerry Lawler.
- He put on the masked wrestler character “Lord Humongous” and started his career in 1987 with Continental Championship Wrestling (CCW).
- In 1987, Sid Eudy won the NWA Southeastern Heavyweight Championship (Northern Division) and became the last person to hold this title.
- He became popular after forming a team with wrestler Shane Douglas, winning the NWA Southeastern Tag Team Championship.
- Sid Eudy then wrestled in New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW) under the name “Vicious Warrior” but could not win the IWGP Heavyweight Championship.
- After that, he briefly joined World Class Championship Wrestling (WCCW) and adopted the ring name “Sid Vicious” after the punk rock musician.
