- Saim played tape ball cricket before he started his professional cricket journey.
- During his initial days in cricket, Saim wanted to become a pace bowler. He used to open the innings with both bat and bowl for his team until his under 19 days.
- Saim considers Saeed Anwar as his cricketing idol since childhood.
- Saim’s cricketing talent was spotted by his childhood coach, Mohammad Masroor, during a school tournament in Karachi, where he was invited as a chief guest. Later, he enrolled him in the Rashid Latif Cricket Academy despite facing opposition from his father, who wanted him to excel in academics.
- Karachi won the U-16 title twice in a row under the captaincy of Saim Ayub, with him scoring four centuries in both seasons.
- Saim came into the limelight from an under-15 cricket tournament held in India in 2016. He played a key role in winning the tournament for Pakistan, scoring 250 runs in five matches. He also won two Man of the Match awards throughout the tournament.
