Adithya Ashok studied at Mount Albert Grammar School, a well-known breeding ground for New Zealand cricketers.

Since 2015, he has been receiving coaching from Tony Sail, the Director of Cricket at Mount Albert Grammar School, who played a key role in shaping his leg-spin bowling.

On 24 June 2019, Adithya Ashok was honoured with the ‘Best Under 19 Cricket Player Award’ at the Sixth Annual Indian Newslink Sport, Community, Arts and Culture Awards held in Auckland.

In February 2020, he represented New Zealand at the 2020 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup, gaining international exposure at the youth level.

During the 2021-22 season, Ashok made his domestic debut for Auckland in New Zealand’s professional competitions.

In January 2026, Adithya Ashok made his comeback to international cricket. He was included in New Zealand’s playing XI for the first ODI against India in the 2026 ODI series in Vadodara.

In the series, he gained attention for both his bowling style and his Indian background.

Ashok is one of the few Indian-born cricketers to represent New Zealand at the senior international level.
