- Kiran pursued PGDBA in Business Strategy, Management, and Marketing at IBS Hyderabad (1996-1998), where he was a national topper and merit scholar.
- He worked as an account planner at Ogilvy & Mather (later known as Ogilvy) from April 1998 to December 1999. There, he worked on Unilever brands such as Lakmē and Pond’s.
- Kiran worked as a brand manager at IBM from January 2000 to January 2004.
- In January 2004, Mani became general manager for strategy, marketing and operations in India, leading strategy and marketing for the server and storage divison. He served in this position until December 2005.
- Mani served as vice president for strategy, marketing, and operations for ASEAN and South Asia from January 2006 to February 2008.
