• Biraj Biswas was born and raised in Dalkhola, West Bengal.

• Since his college days, he began his public life as a student leader and was associated with BJP’s student organozation Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP).

• As a college student, he served as the ABVP’s state secretary before being appointed as all-India secretary.

• Before entering electoral politics, Biswas built his career as an advocate and practiced law in West Bengal.

• Biraj first drew political attention during protests over the killing of two students in alleged firing and bombing incidents at Daribhit High School, Islampur.

• In the early 2020s, he became an active member of West Bengal Bharatiya Janata Party organizational work in North Bengal.

• He became the youngest member of Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari‘s Council of Ministers.

• After becoming minister, in an interview, he said,

 It is a huge responsibility to serve the people of this state and especially my constituency. The CM has faith in me and I am very grateful for it. I have already decided to concentrate on four main aspects for my constituency: healthcare, law and order, education and infrastructure.”

• In an interview, his mother, Bina Biswas said that since childhood Biswas wanted to join politics. She said,

I am proud to have given birth to such a son… his dream has come true, and I am very happy. He would always say that he would continue his studies seriously but remain active in politics and one day become a minister. It was his dream.
