• In 2006, during the initial stages of his career, Yashpal Sharma had a dispute with a man named ‘Lauki’ and had to appear in court over a dispute.

• During the court trials, when the judge heard their names Pappy and Lauki, he advised Pappy to change his name to “Pepsi” and Lauki should change his to “Chukandar” (beetroot).

• After that, Yashpal Sharma took the advice of judge seriously and adopted the name Pepsi, which later became a popular brand in the Haryanvi music industry.

• He belonged to Uttar Pradesh, but he liked Haryanvi language and culture.

• When he started working as a singer, Pepsi Sharma did not tell his family members. One of his relatives once watched his singing program on television and informed his family.
