Some Lesser Known Facts About Anu Grover Baliga

• Anu Grover Baliga joined the Delhi Judicial Service (DJS) and began her judicial career as a Civil Judge at Tis Hazari Courts in Delhi.

• In 2010, she was promoted to Delhi Higher Judicial Service (DHJS) and took charge as an Additional District Judge at Dwarka Courts, New Delhi.

• In 2013, while serving as an Additional District and Session Judge, Grover was one of the reporters for the Indian Law Reports (Delhi Series), which she co-reported by several judges who later became Delhi High Court judges, including Justices Shalinder Kaur and Girish Kathpalia.

• One of Anu’s most talked about judgements was in a rape case in 2018, where she acquitted the accused because there was not enough evidence to prove the charges.

• In 2019, Anu appointed as Secretary of the Delhi High Court Legal Services Committee (DHCLSC), where she oversaw legal aid and access to justice initiatives in Delhi.

• In the same year, she became member of the Delhi Higher Judicial Service (DHJS).

• In 2020, during the COVID-19 period, she continued leading the Delhi High Court Legal Services Committess, when legal services shifted to virtual platforms.

• In April 2022, Anu’s tenure as Secretary of the Delhi High Court Legal Services Committee ended and she was posted as District Judge of Commercial Court-04 in Shahdara.

• She was later transferred to the newly created Commercial Court-04 in South-East District Saket Courts.

• During her tenure as District Judge, she was recognised for maintaining a high rate of case disposal.

• Anu Grover also served as a Special CBI Judge at Rouse Avenue Courts.

• In December 2025, the Delhi High Court transferred her as Judge In-charge of the Mediation Centre in the Central District at Tis Hazari Courts, where she oversaw mediation and alternative dispute resolution proceedings.

• In January 2026, as Judge In-charge, she supervised the implementation of the nationwide “Mediation for the Nation 2.0” campaign in the Central District.

• In July 2026, Anu Grover Baliga came into news after the Delhi High Court appointed her as the Special Judge of the Fast Track Court at Rouse Avenue Courts to exclusively hear cases under the Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024.

• Her appointment came after Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the creation of dedicated fast-track courts to ensure quicker trials in paper leaks cases after the nationwide protests over the alleged NEET-UG 2026 paper leak.

• She became the first judge to head the newly created Fast Track Court dedicated to cases involving question paper leaks and cheating in public examinations.
