  • Aamir Dalvi initially lived at the Apsara Apartment in Bandra West, Mumbai, where he grew up. He later moved to Shastri Nagar in Lokhandwala, Andheri West, with his family.

  • As a child, he was fascinated with engines. He used to play a game called ‘bus riding,’ using a cane chair as the bus’ steering wheel and slippers as the accelerator, brake, and clutch controllers.
  • He failed his class 9 examinations at St. Stanislaus High School in Mumbai after which he was asked to leave. Aamir also got in trouble when a classmate took a tape from his bag and wrote something inappropriate to play a prank. Even though Aamir did not do it, he was expelled from school, which made his father cry in front of the principal.
  • Later, he enrolled at St. Xavier’s High School in Mumbai, where he completed his ninth and tenth grades.
  • He had his first relationship when he was in class 12.
  • Aamir developed a passion for bike riding when he was young. He used to ride his brother’s bike on Thursday every week.
  • Aamir’s love for dirt bikes grew after watching the 1981 film ‘Rocky.’ He participated in the dirt bike race for the first time when he was 16.

  • He had his first kiss at the age of 20, and it was also when he received and wrote his first love letter.
  • Aamir developed a passion for photography from a young age. He started doing it using his father’s camera. Aamir often takes pictures of people at events without charging them and shares his work on the Instagram handle ‘ADP’ (Aamir Dalvi Photography).

  • Aamir weighed around 121 kg during his first year of college. He put on weight as he mostly travelled by bike and did not exercise much.

  • He wanted to join a theatre group with his college friends, but he did not dare to tell them because of his weight. Instead, he helped out backstage. Later, he started working on his fitness.

  • Aamir used to get Rs. 1,500 as pocket money from his father after graduation. His father gave him one month to make a career in acting and also insisted that he undertake a computer course on the side.
  • He later attended the Roshan Taneja School of Acting in Mumbai. On the first day, he informed director Roshan Taneja that his father could not afford the Rs. 25,000 fee. Taneja, however, allowed him to attend classes for a few days and eventually asked him to assist him at the institute; Aamir worked there for five months.
  • Aamir started his acting career with DD Metro’s series ‘Nyaay’ (1999) for which he used to get Rs. 400 per day.
  • In the early 2000s, Aamir faced financial issues due to a lack of projects. He later took his friend’s advice and joined J.P. Morgan Call Centre; he worked there for about 3.5 years to make ends meet.
  • While working at the call centre, he got a chance to audition for a role. Aamir performed well and made his comeback with the television series ‘Jabb Love Hua’ (2006), which aired on Zee TV.

  • He participated in the 2014 Pune Invitational Supercross League and won the second prize.
