Some Lesser Known Facts About Aarthi Sampath

Aarthi began her professional culinary career with the Taj Hotels group in India in 2009. During her approximately five years with the group, she worked at properties in Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad and Chennai.

Later she United States, she gained experience at several prominent New York kitchens, including Junoon, the Michelin-starred Indian restaurant associated with chef Vikas Khanna.

She has worked at various other restaurants like The Breslin, Rainbow Room and Chinese Tuxedo during her career.

In 2016, Sampath won the American cooking competition Chopped, becoming widely recognised as the first Indian woman to win the show. She won the competition after preparing a creative version of bread upma.

She later appeared on other American food television shows, including Beat Bobby Flay, and became a judge on MasterChef Tamil.
