• After completing his schooling, Abhey moved to Delhi, where he prepared for IIT and passed the exams on the first attempt.

• During his college days, Abhey Singh used to participate in Kaladarshan (KD), an annual photography and fine arts exhibition at IIT Bombay.

• Abhey was diagnosed with depression in 2017 after his sister moved to Canada after getting married. He got depressed as he was very close to his sister. To avoid depression, the doctors advised him to keep himself occupied and find a job.

• Abhey Singh worked as a Communication Designer and Project Manager at Bombay Shaving Company from 2017 to 2019.

• Thereafter, he relocated to Canada, where he stayed with his sister till the time he found a job, after which he moved into his apartment, close to his sister’s.

• In Canada, he worked as a Digital/UI Designer at Canadian Tire from 2019 to 2021.

• He spent his time in Canada during the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown. He travelled back to India after lockdown was relaxed in both nations.

• He was successful in academics and the corporate sector, but he found traditional career paths unsatisfactory. Over time, his focus shifted to spirituality. Abhey Singh shared that he had always been attracted to spirituality and studied philosophy during his graduation. He also undertook advanced spirituality studies in New Delhi for three months.

• Thereafter, he went to Rishikesh and Haridwar, seeking spirituality. There, his family and friends began persuading him to return to normal life and not seek spirituality. This irritated him, and as a result, he blocked all the contacts and broke all connections.

• In 2025, he gained attention when many videos of his interviews as a saint at the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, went viral on social media.

• During a media conversation, Abhey Singh said that he completed his graduation in aerospace engineering from IIT Bombay and later became a saint to explore and experience deeper spiritual truths.

• Soon after his videos went viral, he earned the name IIT Baba Abhey Singh in the media.

• Abhey Singh explained that the domestic violence in his childhood pushed him toward spirituality. He was not directly harmed, but he was deeply affected by his parents’ constant fights, which he described as traumatizing.

• When asked why he chose not to marry, Abhey Singh said that his parents’ conflicts shaped his decision to live a peaceful and alone life.

• His love for photography, especially travel photography, inspired him to leave his engineering career.

• Abhey Singh took a professional course in travel photography, which became a turning point in his life.

• He also taught at a coaching centre for a year while preparing for an entrance exam in photography.

• While describing his spiritual journey, Abhey Singh said that he found joy in spirituality and understood it through the lens of science.

• He explained that he explored spirituality deeply and realized that everything was Shiva – the ultimate truth, beauty, and essence of life.

• Abhey Singh shared that he lived in Canada for three years and was earning Rs. 3 lakh per month, which was Rs. 36 lakh annually.

• He explained that while the income was high, expenses in Canada were equally high. He said,
  

  An apple here costs Rs. 50, but there it costs Rs. 200.”

• Abhey Singh said that he moved to Canada in 2019 but left his job and began following a spiritual path after struggling with depression and seeking deeper meaning in life.

• While speaking about his personal life, Singh revealed that he had a girlfriend for four years. However, his parents’ troubled relationship led him to lose faith in the idea of marriage. He said,
  

  Shaadi se mujhe darr lagta tha. Mere ghar pe parents ladaai karte the (I was scared of marriage. My parents used to fight).”

  Abhey Singh added in the same conversation that he had seen only bad examples about marriage so he was stuck in his relationship. He said,

  When you have only seen bad examples, you have no idea how a good relationship actually works. So I did have a girlfriend for four years, but the relationship was stuck. I never understood how to take it forward.”

• He also spoke about his younger days. He said that he drank alcohol and smoked cigarettes and beedis. However, he always felt a strong desire to search for the spiritual truth.

• When asked about his family, Abhey Singh said that he was not in touch with his family and concentrated on Lord Shiva.

• He found comfort in researching various subjects, from understanding the beauty of Sanskrit to solving the problems of the human mind.

• Abhey Singh researched how Sanskrit was written and what made it unique. His thoughts later shifted towards understanding how the mind works and finding ways to stop unwanted thoughts.

• As his videos went viral, they sparked debates on social media about the pressures of India’s educational system.

• His story made people question whether academic success should be the ultimate goal or if personal happiness and fulfilment are more important.

• In a media interview, his father expressed hope that Abhey Singh would return home. His mother also requested him to come back and take care of the family. He also appealed to other parents to not indulge in domestic violence as it impacts the subconscious minds of their kids. He said,
  

  Abhay was very sensitive and was hurt by family fights. I did not realise that these fights have such an impact on children. That is why I appeal to everyone to end their fights, keeping their children in mind.”

• Abhey later responded that after becoming a sanyasi, returning to family life was no longer possible. However, he has often stated that he would leave this lifestyle and return to a normal life if it no longer appealed to him.

• To avoid his parents’ fights, Abhey used to come home from school and go to sleep till 12 in the night. He then used to study and then get ready to head back to school.

• Abhey Singh is fluent in Sanskrit, French, Hindi, and English.
