  • In 2006, Rashid debuted in the County Cricket against Warwickshire at North Marine Road, Scarborough, replacing the Australian batsman Darren Lehmann who was injured; he played a major role in Yorkshire’s victory in the match by taking 6 wickets for 67 runs.
  • Rashid scored four consecutive centuries for the Yorkshire Second XI in 2006.
  • Rashid scored his maiden first-class century in 2007 against Worcestershire at Kidderminster.

  • In 2009, Rashid was included in England’s squad for the 2009 ICC World Twenty20 as a replacement for Andrew Flintoff who was injured. He played 4 matches in the tournament and took 3 wickets at an average of 31.66 and with an economy of 7.30 runs per over.
  • In 2010-11, Rashid finished the county season with 732 runs at a batting average of 45.75 and 57 wickets at a bowling average of 31.29. He even took 26 wickets for Yorkshire in the 2010 Friends Provident t20 tournament where he was the highest wicket-taker among his teammates and fourth most in the tournament.

  • In 2015, Rashid returned to England’s ODI squad for the series against New Zealand. He scored 69 runs in the first match of the series which involved a record partnership of 177 runs with Jos Buttler. He also took 4 wickets in the game and ended up with 8 wickets in the series playing all five matches.

  • In 2015, Rashid took 7 wickets in the ODI series against Australia and ended the series as the highest wicket-taker of his team.
