Some Lesser Known Facts About Andy Williams

• Andy Williams was born and raised in Buffalo, New York.

• Williams originally wanted to became a professional wrestler and trained at the Renegade Wrestling Association on Ontario. However, due to knee injury he had to left his wrestling career.

• While recovering from his knee injury, William learned to play the guitar that led him to pursue a career in music industry.

• In 1998, Andy became one of the founding members of the Buffalo-based metalcore band, Every Time I Die, along with Jordan Buckley and Michael “Ratboy” Novak. Andy remained the band’s guitarist for more than two decades.

• In 2001, Every Time I Die released its debut album, Last Night in Town. William went on to perform on all nine of the band’s studio album, including its final album, Radical in January 2021.

• In the mid-2010s, after spending years on music, Williams returned to professional wrestling and trained under Josh Barnett.

• He also trained at Grapplers Anonymous in Lackawanna, New York and received additional training from his longtime friend and wrestler Jesse Guilmette (The Blade).

• In 2015, he began appearing on the independent wrestling circuit and wrestled his first tag-team match at an Interspecies Wrestling Halloween event.

• In February 2016, Andy returned to Smash Wrestling and in March 2016, he had his first singles match; however, he lost the match and also suffered a meniscus injury.

• He underwent surgery for his knee injury; however, he returned to music career and went on tour with Every Time I Die just after 10 days of surgery.

• In March 2017, Williams returned to wrestling.

• In September 2017, Andy teamed up with Jesse Guilmette. They won the Pro Wrestling Rampage Tag Team Championship in their first match for the promotion.

• Their championship reign lasted for 63 days. Williams and Guilmette became known as The Butcher and The Blade and mainly wrestled in promotion across the Northeastern United States and Ottawa.

• On 27 November 2019, Andy Williams joined All White Wrestling (AEW) and formed the tag team The Butcher and The Blade with Jesse Guilmette. The duo became one of the recognizable tag teams on AEW programming.

• From 2019 to 2025, during his AEW run, Williams appeared on shows including Dynamite, Rampage and Dark and competed in several major tag-team storylines.

• In 2021, Andy’s band Every Time I Die released Radical, the band’s final album. In 2022, the band officially disbanded.

• In 2023, after Every Time I Die ended, Williams founded another musical band Atomic Rule with bassist Travis Bennington. In September 2025, the band released a three-song demo.

• In June 2026, the contracts of The Butcher and The Blade with AEW expired and ended their nearly seven-years contract with the promotion.

• On 5 September 2026, while he was competing at Enjoy Wrestling’s fifth-anniversary event at Mr. Smalls Theatre in Millvale, Pennsylvania with The Blade, he collapsed at ringside after the match and hit his head.

• Two doctors at the venue immediately treated him. He was initially conscious but unresponsive, and his condition quickly worsened. Medical staff also performed CPR.

• He was taken to Allegheny General Hospital, where he was declared dead.

• Andy Williams is survived by his wife, Hana Devore. She is also a professional body builder.
