• Anson Paul studied in Kodambakkam and lived in Sali village. He then shifted to Thiruvanmiyur, Chennai.

• He once said that he was raised by his biological mother and foster mother. His mothers faced various financial difficulties while he was growing up.

• While he was studying in school, he used to keep extra clothes in his bag so he could bunk his classes.

• In childhood, he used to enjoy watching films. At a very young age, he decided that he would make his career in acting.

• He then expressed his desire to study visual communication. However, his parents did not agree to it and asked him to study engineering.

• To learn the process of filmmaking, he started working as an assistant director. Initially, he used to hold a clapboard on the sets of films.

• In 2011, he was diagnosed with a brain tumour, and he underwent surgery. During that phase, he asked his parents that if the surgery went well, they would let him make his career in acting. After the surgery, he got 57 stitches on the back of his head and forehead, but he did not get the scars removed.

• After recovering, he met the Indian actress Mamta Mohandas. He shared with her his desire to become an actor. She then invited him to visit the sets of the Tamil film Thadara Thakka. He spent a day at the shooting location and Mamta offered her a role in a film.

• He started his career as a model and walked the ramp in various fashion shows.

• He then did his training in acting at an acting school in Mumbai. He went on to perform with the theatre group Aadishakti. Later, because of his height, he got cast opposite the Indian actress Parvathy Omanakuttan as makers could not find any actor who could match her height.
