• After completing his Master of Business Administration degree in Kolkata, he planned to go to the United States for a PhD degree in marketing but changed his mind after his friend Iqbal took him to a television production company that wanted new actors.

• Later, the director Amal Sarkar selected him as the main lead for his TV production.

• Before starting his work in the film industry he worked with several corporate companies such as Forex in Kolkata.

• Later, he worked as chief executing officer at a company.

• In 2007, he worked as a stage actor and performed in twelve cities in the United States.

• In 2009, he became the owner of the film production company Nothing Beyond Cinema.
