Some Lesser Known Facts About Arshin Kulkarni

  • Arshin’s cricketing journey began at the age of six in his hometown Solapur, Maharashtra. His grandmother enrolled him at the Salim Khan Cricket Academy, which was near to their residence.
  • Arshin’s maternal grandmother and father both were a huge fan of cricket and supported Arshin throughout his cricketing journey in his earlier days. His father and maternal grandfather both used to play cricket in their times.
  • At the age of 12, Arshin temporarily shifted his base to Pune from Solapur on the advice of his cricket coaches. After he got selected in the Cadence Academy in Pune, his family rented a house in Pune, where he would stay three days a week with his grandmother.
  • In order to balance Arshin’s academics and cricketing ambitions, his father sought permission from his school to adjust his schedule accordingly. He used to attend school from Monday to Wednesday afternoon and spend the rest of the week in Pune for cricket training. This continued from Maharashtra U-14 to U-19 days.

  • Apart from cricket, Arshin enjoys playing tennis and playing FIFA and UFC on PlayStation.
  • Arshin used to bowl leg spin earlier and had decent success but switched to pace bowling during his under 16 days on the advice of his coaches who saw his height as an advantage. His maternal grandfather who himself was a pace bowler also helped him and taught him how to use the seam of the ball.
  • Arshin considers Jacques Kallis as his cricketing idol and grew up admiring him. He also met Kallis during a camp at SuperSport Park in Centurion before the 2024 Under-19 World Cup. He also carried a letter along with him which was written by his grandmother in which she described how much impact Kallis had on her grandson.

  • Arshin made a name for himself in the local cricket circuit after he scored a triple-hundred in an Under-16 invitational tournament. The innings caught the attention of Nikhil Paradkar, the former Maharashtra batter who went on to coach him a few years later.
  • In 2023, Arshin guided the Maharashtra team to win the Under-19 Vinoo Mankad Trophy. His innings of 60 runs in the quarterfinals and a century in the finals against Mumbai proved vital for the team.
  • After giving exceptional performances in the Vinoo Mankad Trophy, Arshin earned a chance to play in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy where he made his T20 debut in the 2023-24 season.
  • Arshin scored a century against the USA in the U-19 World Cup 2024.

  • On May 1, 2024, Arshin made his IPL debut for the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) team against Mumbai Indians.
  • Arshin was bought by the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) for Rs. 30 lakhs in the 2025 Tata IPL mega auctions.
  • In January 2025, Arshin scored a century on his List-A debut match for Maharashtra during the Vijay Hazare Trophy quarterfinal match against Punjab in Vadodara. He took 129 deliveries to complete his century in the match.
