- Avesh started playing cricket at a very young age under the guidance of his father, who used to play cricket at the local level.
- Earlier, his father ran a ‘paan shop’ and later became a financial manager in a private company.
- He started playing tennis ball cricket at the age of 10. Impressed by his talent, his uncle suggested him to work hard and become a professional cricketer.
- At the age of 14, Avesh joined the Indore Colts Cricket Club.
- In 2014, he got selected for the Madhya Pradesh cricket team and made his first-class debut against Railways in the 2014-15 Ranji Trophy at Delhi in which he picked 2 wickets in the first innings.
- He played for India Under-19 in the 2014 and 2016 Under-19 World Cup.
- His best bowling figure for India Under-19 was against Bangladesh Under-19 in which he picked 4 wickets by taking just 4 runs in 6 overs and in those overs, 3 were maidens.
- In the 2017 Indian Premier League (IPL) auction, he was acquired for Rs 10 lakh by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).
- He made his IPL debut on 14 May 2017 for RCB against Delhi Capitals at Arun Jaitley Cricket Stadium, Delhi and took 1 wicket for 23 runs.
- In the 2018 IPL auction, Delhi Daredevils (DD) acquired him for Rs. 70 lakh.
