  • Avinash Shahi grew up in a middle-class family in Bettiah.
  • At a very young age, he developed an interest in acting.
  • When he expressed his desire to make a career in acting to his parents, his parents did not support him.
  • After the demise of his mother, his brother took him to Gujarat and asked him to join a theatre group there.
  • While working in theatre groups, he started modelling. On the advise of his friends, he came to Mumbai from Gujarat to become an actor.
  • He then got a chance to do ads for Ruf and Tuf Jeans with Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar. Apart from this, he has also done ads for Kabhi Sau washing powder and Vimal Pan Masala.
  • He once went to a studio for an audition, the gate watchman sent him back from the gate. Then the director A. D. (Pappu) sitting in the studio called him inside and cast him as a Kashmiri boy in the Indian TV show ‘Ajnabi’ which was telecasted on DD Metro in 1996.
  • After this, on the advise of his friend Raj Gautam, he agreed to work in the Bhojpuri film ‘Balma Bada Nadaan.’
