ControversyIn September 2019, Nishad hit the headlines when his wife, Neetu Nishad accused him of domestic violence and threats. She said, "My husband hit me and threatened to kill me. He even threatened to shoot me with a gun. My husband is a minister and yet he behaves like this." Neetu has also written to the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi and the CM, Yogi Adityanath to seek their interference. In the letter, she has written, "He used to threaten me at gunpoint, urinate on me and thrash me badly... He also used to threaten to kill my parents and brothers." According to Neetu, her husband is torturing her since their marriage. However, in reply, Baburam Nishad has alleged that his wife always demands money and spends extravagantly. According to him, "She always demands money... She spends a lot and that is why I am seeking a divorce." [1]NDTV
