• He grew up in Sheikhupura in a middle-class family.

• He was inclined towards music from a young age. As a child, Chahat used to be a part of a group that clapped in the Qawwalis in Sheikhupura. As a part of the clapping group, he attended various events and weddings.

• Growing up, he became a huge fan of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and often visited various events to watch him perform.

• In 1982, he joined a music group in Sheikhupura.

• After completing his formal education, Chahat joined the School of Economics at the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) as a visiting faculty.

• Meanwhile, he also started playing cricket and became a part of the Gymkhana Cricket Club in Sheikhuprura.

• Chahat represented the Lahore cricket team in first-class matches in the 1983–84 season of the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy, scoring 16 runs in three innings.

• A few years later, he moved to the United Kingdom, where he played club cricket for around 12 years.

• His songs are usually parody-like versions of renowned songs, which he creates by reducing the rhythm of the original songs to a monotonous beat and adding lyrics of his own. His songs receive a mixed response from the audience.

• In December 2023, he decided to contest the General Elections in Pakistan as an independent candidate from the Lahore NA-128. However, his nomination papers were rejected as he had a dual nationality.

• In 2024, he released his song Bado Badi whose lyrics goes like “Hoye hoye aaye haye, oye hoye oye hoye, Aaye haye aye haye, oye hoye oye hoye, Bado Badi, Bado Badi, Badu Badi, Badu Badi.” Soon after its release, the song went viral on social media. Many popular YouTubers like Ashish Chanchlani and Nischay Malhan (Triggered Insaan) made roast videos on the song.

• He once served as the Director of Chahat Fateh Ali Khan Ltd. The company was later dissolved.

• To copy the looks of the renowned singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Chahat changed his hair style to half bald.

• He works as a music manager and music director at National Studio.
