- Chhannulal Mishra was an Indian Hindustani classical singer. He belonged to the Banaras gharana school of classical music, especially Khayal and Purab Ang (Thumri).
- He grew up in Hariharpur in the Azamgarh district of Uttar Pradesh.
- He was born into a family with a deep love for music. His father, Pandit Badri Prasad Mishra, was also a classical singer.
- From a very young age, Chhannulal showed great interest and talent in singing.
- After learning the basics of music from his father, Chhannulal Mishra went to Varanasi and learnt music from Ustad Abdul Ghani Khan, who belonged to the Kirana gharana school of singing.
- The turning point in his life happened when the renowned Padma Bhushan Thakur Jaidev Singh recognized his talent, and then Jaidev became his guru and guided him.
- Apart from Khayal and Thumri, Chhannulal Mishra was also trained in many other folk and traditional forms from the region of Varanasi.

- Chhannulal Mishra passed away on October 2, 2025, due to a prolonged illness. A few days prior, he had been admitted to BHU Hospital, Varanasi. However, he was discharged after showing some signs of recovery. Unfortunately, his daughter, Namrata Mishra, recently confirmed the news of his death.
- Throughout his later years, he faced kidney complications as well as multiple chronic conditions, including type 2 diabetes, hypertension, osteoarthritis, benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), and acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS).
