  • She has pursued various educational programs like the Aspen Fellowship Program, the Harvard Kennedy School’s Global Leadership & Public Policy for the 21st Century, and a course at the Indian School of Business (ISB). After completing MBA, she worked with various companies like Times of India, Carlson Group of Hotels, and Airtel.

  • Her first goal was to avail proper water facilities. To solve this issue, she set up rain harvesting systems in the village. After that, she worked on providing better educational facilities. She built new school buildings, hired good teachers, and made sure there were basic things like books and desks.

  • Another significant problem in the village was the lack of healthcare facilities. Chhavi then organised various medical camps in the village to promote hygiene and sanitation practices.
  • Furthermore, Chhavi helped in starting the first branch of the State Bank of India in the village.
  • On 25 March 2011, she received an invitation to attend a conference at the 11th Infopoverty World Conference. At this event, she delivered a speech which was dedicated to the late President of India, APJ Abdul Kalam.
  • She has also attended various national and international programs such as The Australia-India Youth Dialogue, the International Visitors Leadership Programme, and the Asian Forum on Global Governance.
  • In 2014, a group of people with sticks, iron rods, and stones attacked Chhavi, her father, and Panchayat’s secretary. Chhavi got some small injuries, but her father had to go to the hospital. The police arrested seven people including five women, for being involved in the attack in Soda village. Chhavi then talked to the media and said that she and her father had asked the police for help many times in the two weeks before the attack. There had been other times when people tried to attack them, but the police did not help them. She said that the police only came after her father was in the hospital. Later, it was found that the argument was about a piece of land where the government wanted to build an IT centre. A man called Roop Narain and his family said they owned the land and they had a stay order from a court. However, later, the court lifted the stay.     This was a government project intended for the village’s development. Roop Narain and his family have been constantly threatening us. They made several attempts to attack us since construction began.”

  • In 2015, her tenure as a village sarpanch came to an end, but Chhavi continued to work for the welfare of the Soda village. Her work was supported by the State Government of Rajasthan and various other companies like The Himalaya Drug Company, Hindustan Unilever Limited, Nerolac Paints India, Rotary International, and the Hindustan Coca-Cola Foundation.
  • In October 2017, she started working as an Independent Director on the Board of EIH Limited, a luxury hotel.
  • In 2019, as an honour, Google Pay released a video on Chhavi.

  • In March 2020, she started working as a mentor at non-profit college Eminent Girls College in Tonk, Rajasthan.
  •  In 2021, she was appointed as a Member of the South Asia Advisory Council at the pharmaceutical company Bayer. She also serves as a board member for an NGO named the Miracle Foundation, which is working for the welfare of vulnerable children.
