In 2020, Daniel Balaji featured in a TV series titled Godman which was streamed on ZEE5. When the trailer of the series was released, many people from the Hindu community objected to the trailer as it showed some controversial dialogues which were perceived as hateful towards Hindus, particularly Brahmins. Most people thought that Daniel was a Christian, and he also received many abusive messages and call. Later, Daniel clarified that he did not utter those dialogues and know nothing about it.

  • After the success of his first TV show in which he played the role of Daniel, Tamil TV show director Sunder K. Vijayan suggested him to adopt the name ‘Daniel Balaji’ as his stage name.
