- Daniel Richard Sams is an Australian cricketer who started playing cricket for domestic teams in Australia. Daniel was bought by Delhi Capitals for the Indian Premier League 2020 for the base price of Rs. 20 lakhs.
- Daniel made his first-class cricket debut for Canterbury during the 2017-18 Plunket Shield season in October 2017. He made his Twenty20 debut for Sydney Sixers in the 2017-18 Big Bash season on 19 December 2017.
- During his Twenty20 debut, Daniel took four wickets for fourteen runs; making it the best figure by any debutant in the tournament. On 18 September 2018, he made his List A debut for New South Wales in the 2018-19 JLT One-Day Cup.
- In 2019, Daniel was selected in the Vancouver Knights franchise team to play in the 2019 Global T20 Canada tournament. In July 2020, Daniel got the opportunity to be a part of a 26-men preliminary squad of players, and they were supposed to start their training for a possible tour to England after the COVID-19 pandemic. - On 27 August 2020, Daniel was picked by the Delhi Capitals for the Indian Premier League 2020. He was added as a replacement for the English cricketer Jason Roy. Jason has to leave the IPL series due to some injury.
