• Deepti Pruthvi is an Indian doctor and rally navigator who made headlines for racing alongside her daughter Shivani Pruthvi as a navigator in several national racing competitions and rallies.

• After completing her formal education, she got married to BS Pruthvi, who later trained her to become a race navigator. BS Pruthvi is popular in the Bengaluru racing circuit for once completing a 60 km race on a flat tire.

• Deepti decided to become a race navigator at the age of 50 years to help her daughter Shivani who was unable to find a navigator as no one wanted to work with her as she was a new race driver.

• During her training period, she was made to wear the racing kit and sit in a room having high temperatures to get used to the rally conditions. She said that it was not hard for her as she had to often dress up in kit while working as a doctor.

• She later learned the rules of rally driving and signals and also took notes on navigation. In 2019, she started participating as a navigator with her daughter, Shivani Pruthvi, and their first rally was the South Indian Rally 2019.

• In 2018 and 2019, she won Times Women’s Drive with her mother, for two consecutive years. She also competed in the 2021 KMS 50 Grand Prix held in Coimbatore.

• When Deepti started competing in rallies, her daughter and driver, Shivani, used to worry about her as she thought that Deepti might not have the mental aptitude for speed and racing; however, Shivani changed her mind after seeing Deepti’s alertness after an accident. Shivani and Deepti met with an accident while racing in which Deepti suffered a cut on her finger. Immediately after the accident, Deepti came out of the car and started extinguishing the fire in the car.
