- Dhanya Ananya is an Indian actor who primarily appears in the Malayalam entertainment industry. In 2022, she came into the limelight after she appeared in the Malayalam film Bheeshma Parvam in which she played the role of Elsa.
- Born in a south Indian family, Dhanya’s father, Ramakrishnan, used to work in an organisation in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. Later, when Dhanya was studying in 7th grade, she moved from Meerut to Kerala with her family.
- According to Dhanya, for her passion for acting, she pursued a Master of Arts in Drama and Theatre. In an interview, Dhanaya talked about this and said,

- In an interview, Dhanya talked about her acting career and said that during her childhood, she didn’t want to pursue a career in acting; however, while she was pursuing BA (Hons) in Journalism and Mass Communication, she appeared in various short films directed by her friends following which she developed an interest in acting. Dhanya said,
I didn’t even think of becoming a movie star. I didn’t watch the movie much. I did my graduation in Mass Communication from Mar Evanious. I started acting in my friend’s short films in my second year. Short films like Desperate and Extremity, a music video called Oru Sandhya , The Heart of a Dog, Chameli and many other works.Sreekrishnan Chetan’s ‘The Heart of a Dog’ was selected at IFFK 2017. It was then that I started to feel that it would be good if I understood acting more.Theater attracted me. When he went to Thrissur for a workshop, he heard about Kaladi Sri Shankara University and enrolled there to study.”
- During her college days, Dhanya worked in many short films like Desperate and Extremity, and music albums like Oru Sandhya and Chameli.
- In 2017, Dhanya appeared in the short film Nayinte Hridyam (Heart of the Dog). The short film was selected for the International Film Festival of Kerala.

Theater has always been a part of me. A lot of positive things have come out of it. Beginning with Kaladi Shankara. The confidence to perform was built from there. He got confidence by performing there and interacting with the teachers. So theater helped a lot. Especially in this movie.”
- In 2018, she moved to Lucknow from Kerala and started working with Kochi Muzris Bienelle’s project named Art by Children, a workshop for school children; however, after a year, Dhanya moved back to Kerala to pursue a career in the film industry. In an interview, Dhanya talked about this and said,
Worked on the Art by Children program at the Biennale for income. Even though I watched the audition, I didn’t feel that I should give it. I went to Lucknow and did theater work with some children. It was when I was busy there that I felt that I should come back to my country and become active in acting.”

My very first appearance in a film was in Athiran, in which I played an insignificant role, just to start from somewhere in cinema,.”
