• She had a keen interest in music. She had started to write songs and play guitar when she was 11 and began to sing when she was 15.

• She dropped out of high school to pursue music as a career, and she had no interest in pursuing anything else.

• In 2012, in an interview with the El Paso Times, she mentioned music was the one thing that kept her motivated in life.

• She started her professional career in music with guitarist Siouxsie Medley, whom she met through a mutual friend. Both shared similar taste in music.

• Armstrong was highly influenced by folk rock music as a songwriter.

• In 2005, Dead Sara did her first gig at the Los Angeles nightclub The Mint in March. They were Initially known as Epiphany.

• Apart from writing songs and singing, she also plays bass.

• In 2007, Dead Sara did their first tour, and in 2010 they founded their indie label, Pocket Kid Records releasing their full-length debut named Dead Sara (2012).

• On September 5, 2024, Emily Armstrong joined the American Rock band Linkin Park as their new co-lead vocalist replacing Chester Bennington. She did her debut with the band at a live-streamed event on the same day performing The Emptiness Machine from their forthcoming album.
