- Grizz Chapman was born and raised in Brooklyn. He was known for his towering height of nearly 7 feet.
- Before entering entertainment industry, he worked as a bouncer at a strip club in USA, where he met comedian Tracy Morgon, who helped him in entering entertainment industry.
- In 2006, Grizz made his acting breakthrough on the NBC sitcom 30 Rock as Grizz.
