Some Lesser Known Facts About Himanshu Sharma

• Himanshu started playing cricket at 17 in Sikar, but due to a lack of facilities, he moved to Jaipur, where he began practising at the Jaipuria Cricket Academy.

• During his early days, Himanshu wanted to become a batter, but he decided to switch to spin bowling because he could not afford the cricket equipment.

• Himanshu’s father played volleyball for Rajasthan at the state level.

• Himanshu always aspired to play for the Royal Challengers Bangalore and has supported the team since the beginning of the IPL in 2008.

• Himanshu had never played cricket at any competitive level before being selected for the IPL.

• Himanshu as a leg spinner always considered Shane Warne as his idol.

• On 21 May, Himanshu made his IPL debut for Royal Challengers Bangalore against Gujarat Titans in the 2023 Indian Premier League at MA Chinnaswamy Stadium.

• In the 2023 IPL, he was among the list of impact substitution players alongside Finn Allen, Suyash Prabhudessai, Sonu Yadav, and Akash Deep when RCB announced the final playing XI. He was brought in the 2nd innings of the match as an impact player where he replaced Karn Sharma.
