Some Lesser Known Facts About Justice Dhiraj Singh Thakur
- Dhiraj Singh Thakur is an Indian jurist, who is the senior-most judge at the Bombay High Court. On 5 July 2023, Thakur’s nomination for the position of Chief Justice of the Andhra Pradesh High Court was recommended by the Supreme Court Collegium.
- Dhiraj Singh Thakur’s father, Devi Das Thakur, a prominent advocate and former governor of Assam, also held a position as a judge in the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir.
- On 18 October 1989, Dhiraj Singh Thakur registered as an advocate with the Bar Council of Delhi.
- Justice Dhiraj Singh Thakur initiated his legal practice at the Delhi High Court in 1989 before transferring his enrollment to the Bar Council of Jammu & Kashmir in November 2010.
- Subsequently, he joined his brother Justice Tirath Singh Thakur’s chambers.
