The video of his APC screening also went viral, where people liked his speaking style and confidence.

• In the video, he claimed that he was 30 years old and also explained that his small stature and youthful appearance were because he lives with dwarfism that he inherited from his paternal grandfather.

• In the late May 2026, Mahmud Sadis Buba caught in a controversy after leaked documents, including an alleged passport and school records surfaces online showing that he was born in 2010 and is just 16 years old (as of 2026) rather than 30 years he claimed in his APC nomination video.

• Some teacher and family members also supported the claims made in the leaked document about his age.

• Initially the APC leaders dismissed the controversy as political propaganda that was designed to damage Mahmud’s reputation. However, as the controversy became bigger, the APC reportedly distanced itself from him.
