  • Payal Nair is an Indian actress who is popular for playing the titular role in the soap opera Meher (2004-2006) on DD National. She is also known for starring in the TV series Saat Phere: Saloni Ka Safar (2005), Chand Chupa Badal Mein (2010), and Do Saheliyaan… Kismat Ki Kathputaliyaan (2010).

  • During an interview, she disclosed that in her childhood, her maternal grandfather affectionately referred to her as “nautanki” due to her dramatic nature.
  • Growing up, she actively participated in school plays. It was Payal’s movie-enthusiast mother who noticed her love for drama and theatre. She was the president of the dramatics society during her college days. Her journey as a professional theatre artist began at the YMCA, where she would attend theatre workshops after her classes.
  • Upon finishing her mass communication course, she briefly worked as a copywriter at an advertising agency. In late 1999, she made the move to Mumbai with aspirations of pursuing an acting career.
