Some Lesser Known Facts About Rey Misterio Sr.

• Misterio was initially interested in boxing but after his body got bigger, he took a lot of bumps and lost some of his punching ability. When his trainers told him that he could not still punch hard, they told Misterio about wrestling.

• Misterio gained fame in the lucha libre scene in Mexico, earning championship titles with prominent organisations such as the World Wrestling Association and Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide, equivalent to Mexico’s WWE.
