• Sachin Meena is an Indian man who became famous after his Pakistani wife, Seema Haider, entered India illegally in May 2023 and started living with him.

• He later began working at a nearby ration shop, where he earned a monthly income of Rs 13000.

• In July 2020, Sachin Meena met Seema Haider for the first time while playing the online game PUBG. Seema was drawn to Sachin due to his gameplay style and the way he spoke, including his accent. After approximately four months, they exchanged numbers and began talking on WhatsApp and Instagram, using voice and video calls.

• Their feelings for each other grew and their relationship started in January 2021. In February 2023, Seema applied for an Indian Visa to meet Sachin, and Sachin provided copies of his Aadhaar card; however, Seema couldn’t obtain the necessary signature from a government officer on one of her documents. As a result, her visa application was denied.

• Sachin and Seema later discovered that Indian citizens do not require a visa to travel to Nepal, hence they decided to meet there in March 2023. Seema left her children in Pakistan and came alone to Nepal, and their first meeting took place on 10 March 2023. After their initial meeting, they married each other at Pashupatinath Temple following which they enjoyed a week together at a hotel in Nepal. Then, Seema departed for Pakistan, while Sachin returned to India.

• In May 2023, Seema Haider entered India illegally along with her children, and Sachin Meena welcomed them at the Faleda intersection near Rabupura on 13 May 2023 and took them to a rented room in Ambedkar Colony, which he had rented for a monthly rent of Rs 2500.

• On 29 June 2023, the couple visited a lawyer in Bulandshahr with the intention of getting married legally; however, the lawyer was surprised when he saw Seema’s Pakistani passport and informed the police. Upon reaching their rented room, the police discovered that the couple had already left and were attempting to flee. According to one source, the police apprehended them on 30 June 2023 in Ballabgarh, as per another source, the arrest occurred on 4 July 2023. ^[1]Hindustan Times

• An FIR numbered 159/2023 was registered at Rabupura Police Station after their arrest. In this report, Seema was mentioned for her unauthorized entry into India, while Sachin Meena and his father, Netrapal Singh (also known as Nittar), were named for their involvement in aiding and providing shelter to an illegal immigrant.

• They were taken into custody and detained at Luksar Jail in Uttar Pradesh. On 6 July 2023, Netrapal Singh was granted bail, and On 7 July 2023, Sachin Meena and Seema were granted bail by Justice Nazim Akbar of the Junior Division of the Jewar Civil Court. Their release from jail occurred at 8:30 am on 8 July 2023. The court specified that they must reside at the same location until a final decision is reached.

• Their lawyer, Hemant Krishna Parashar conveyed to the media that the trio was required to visit Rabupura Police Station on a daily basis to sign an undertaking, and they were not permitted to leave the town without obtaining proper permission from the police.

• As Sachin and Seema‘s love story became widely known, the public showed their support for the couple. People appealed to the government to consider granting Indian citizenship to Seema and her four children. Various Hindu organizations visited the couple’s residence, offering reassurance and financial aid.

• Sachin Meena’s parents, Netrapal and Ritu, praised Seema‘s courage in crossing borders to be with Sachin; however, there were also suspicions raised by some individuals, suggesting that Seema might be a Pakistani spy and that Sachin might be aiding her and demanded further investigation.

• In August 2023, one of Sachin’s neighbours named Mithilesh Bhati made certain comments about him during an interview which included phrases like ‘Lappu Sa Sachin’ and ‘Jhingur Sa Ladka.’ The well-known music producer Yashraj Mukhate even created a short song using these remarks. In response to this situation, Sachin’s lawyer, AP Singh, sent a legal notice to Mithilesh Bhati regarding her comments.

• Sachin and Seema found inspiration in the Bollywood hit film ‘Gadar: Ek Prem Katha’ starring Sunny Deol. Interestingly, they even watched this film during their first meeting in Nepal in March 2023.
