- Sahir Shamshad Mirza is a Pakistani four-star Military General and is currently serving as the 18th Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee.
- Sahir was born and brought up in a small village named Mulhal Mughlan in Chakwal District in the Pakistani province of Punjab. Sahir comes from a middle-class family.
- At a very young age, Sahir became an orphan after losing both his parents.
- After his training at the Pakistan Military Academy, Sahir was commissioned into the 8th Battalion of the Sind Regiment on 10th September 1987.
- During his early military career, he served as Brigade Major of two Infantry Brigades and General Staff Officer (GSO) Grade 1 in the Military Operations Directorate.
