Raju’s father always wished his son to become a cricketer. He wanted to become a cricketer but could not complete his dream due to family circumstances. To give his son better cricketing opportunities, he moved his family to Kakinada from the Konaseema district.

Raju first made his mark in Under-14 zonal matches and went on to secure a place in the Andhra Pradesh cricket team.

Raju made his first-class debut for the Andhra Pradesh cricket team against Mumbai during the 2023-24 Ranji Trophy; he took two wickets in the match.
