- Savita Bhatti grew up in New Delhi.
- She used to participate in various extracurricular activities during her school days.
- Before marriage, she lived in different cities like Chandigarh, Baroda, Bangalore, and Pune due to her father’s transferable job.
- After her B.Ed, she started teaching at St. Mary’s Convent School, Kasauli. She was the class teacher of Class 5 and taught history and civics to class 6 to 10.
- The first salary cheque she got was Rs 600, which she used to purchase the long play of Michael Jackson‘s Thriller.
- She worked as a teacher at Birla Vidya Niketan in Saket, New Delhi.
- As her name was unlike other Punjabi names, people thought Savita was not Punjabi and that her marriage to Jaspal Bhatti was a love marriage.
- She did her post-graduation and a course in journalism after marriage.
- She secured the third position at Panjab University during her journalism and mass communication degree.
- Soon, she started her career in the entertainment industry, along with her husband, Jaspal.
