Sawai Bhatt is an Indian Puppeteer and a singer. He came into the limelight for his selection as a contestant for the singing reality show “Indian Idol 12.”

Sawai Bhatt was born into a very poor family. He used to run puppet shows with his father and mother across Rajasthan to sustain their livings.

He was fond of music since childhood but could not focus on it because of his living conditions.

While he was growing up, he developed a keen interest in Rajasthan’s Traditional Music. He got too involved in it and somehow managed to start earning from it.

As the era of mobile and the internet came, it became very difficult for him to feed his family. His shows were completely shut.

Sawai was motivated by his friends to participate in a singing show after which he auditioned for the Indian Idol 10 and initially got selected for it but could not make it to the top 15 and got eliminated.

Sawai was very focused on singing and auditioned again in the 12th season of Indian Idol. He sang the folk song ‘Keshariya Balam Aao Mere Desh’ and mesmerized the judges with his voice. He did not just get selected for the show but also got the Golden Mike from the judges.
