• Sheetal Ranganathan was a brilliant student who got the university’s first Rank in all three years of Bachelor of Science studies at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi.

• As a student, she was a member of the Society of Young Scientists at AIIMS.

• During her post-graduate studies, she also did a research dissertation (credit course) in Molecular Biology and Immunology, specializing in Tuberculosis.

• She was a research fellow at the International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB) in New Delhi from January 2000 to June 2000 in the Recombinant Gene Products Group.

• During her management studies at the Xavier Institute of Management (XIMB) in Bhubaneswar, she received the Orissa Jesuit Society Gold Medal for Social and Ethical Perspectives in Management.
