Some Lesser Known Facts About Sid Eudy

• Sid Eudy grew up in Arkansas and worked as a farmer. He was also studying to become a pilot.

• He started wrestling after meeting noted wrestlers Randy Savage and Lanny Poffo in 1987.

• In his debut match, Sid Eudy teamed up with wrestler Austin Idol against Nick Bockwinkel and Jerry Lawler.

• He put on the masked wrestler character “Lord Humongous” and started his career in 1987 with Continental Championship Wrestling (CCW).

• In 1987, Sid Eudy won the NWA Southeastern Heavyweight Championship (Northern Division) and became the last person to hold this title.

• He became popular after forming a team with wrestler Shane Douglas, winning the NWA Southeastern Tag Team Championship.

• Sid Eudy then wrestled in New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW) under the name “Vicious Warrior” but could not win the IWGP Heavyweight Championship.

• After that, he briefly joined World Class Championship Wrestling (WCCW) and adopted the ring name “Sid Vicious” after the punk rock musician.

• In 1989, Sid Eudy signed with World Championship Wrestling (WCW) and kept the name “Sid Vicious.” He then debuted on TV by defeating DeWayne Bruce in a solo match.

• He later teamed up with Danny Spivey to form The Skyscrapers, managed by Teddy Long. The Skyscrapers fought with The Steiner Brothers and The Road Warriors, with Eudy using the Powerbomb as his finishing move.

• After recovering, Sid Eudy returned to wrestling on 11 May 1990, joining Ric Flair’s Four Horsemen group.

• He was introduced as the group’s “muscle,” meant to counter RoboCop at Capital Combat.

• As a member of the Horsemen, Sid Eudy fought with Paul Orndorff and the Junkyard Dog. He also attacked the NWA World Heavyweight Champion Sting.

• In 1990, at Halloween Havoc, he tried to win the title by defeating the fake Sting (Barry Windham) but was stopped when the real Sting defeated him.

• After this incident, his relationship with the Horsemen group weakened, and he became a “quasi-face” (semi-good guy) in November 1990.

• In November 1990, Sid Eudy won a match against The Nightstalker, but later, he was attacked by the debuting Big Cat.

• He reunited with his former partner, Danny Spivey, for the Skyscrapers team, and they won a match at Starrcade in December 1990.

• Sid Eudy then returned to his villain character, ending Trucker Norm’s WCW match and defeating Joey Maggs in early 1991.

• He rejoined the Horsemen and participated in the WarGames match at WrestleWar.

• The Horsemen split in April 1991, and Sid Eudy began negotiations with WWF. He turned down a large WCW offer.

• Before leaving WCW, he had a small fight with the El Gigante. Sid lost the match to El Gigante at SuperBrawl I.

• Sid Eudy made his WWF debut on 28 May 1991, by attacking The Mountie in an untelevised event. His first WWF match was on 8 July 1991, when he defeated Ted DiBiase at a non-televised event.

• In WWF, Vignettes introduced him as “Sid Justice.” He officially debuted on WWF television on 20 July 1991 and was announced as the special guest referee for the SummerSlam main event.

• At SummerSlam, Sid Eudy saved Randy Savage and Miss Elizabeth from an attack by Jake Roberts and The Undertaker.

• His first televised match was on 21 September 1991 where he defeated Kato. Sid injured his biceps during a match with Jake Roberts.

• In 1992, he became upset when WWF President Jack Tunney chose Hulk Hogan instead of him to face wrestler Flair for the WWF Championship at WrestleMania VIII.

• In February 1992, Sid Eudy destroyed the “Barber Shop” set on “Wrestling Challenge” and threatened Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake, leading to a feud with Hogan.

• Soon, he hired Harvey Whippleman as his manager and began injuring his opponents with multiple power bombs, often attacking them on stretchers.

• At WrestleMania VIII, Sid Eudy lost to Hogan by disqualification after Papa Shango interfered.

• He was reportedly allowed to wrestle at WrestleMania after he failed a drug test, but he quit WWF afterwards. He mentioned disagreements with management and a fight with The Ultimate Warrior.

• Sid’s fight with Warrior began on WWF’s European tour in April 1992 but ended after Sid quit following disagreements over match outcomes. Papa Shango replaced him in the feud.

• Sid Eudy returned to WCW in May 1993. He debuted as a competitor for Col. Robert Parker and defeated Van Hammer in a stretcher match at Slamboree.

• He then teamed with Big Van Vader and announced a fight with Sting. Sid’s team lost to Sting’s team in a WarGames match at Fall Brawl, and Sid later lost to Sting at Halloween Havoc.

• After that, Sid Eudy was scheduled to challenge Vader for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship at Starrcade, but Ric Flair replaced him after Sid’s departure.

• After leaving WCW, he returned to the United States Wrestling Association (USWA) in Memphis, where he fought with Jerry Lawler.

• In 1993, Sid Eudy came into the limelight after he had a quarrel with wrestler Arn Anderson in a hotel.

• On 16 July 1994, he won the USWA Unified World Heavyweight Championship after injuring Lawler.

• Sid Eudy participated in the UWF Blackjack Brawl in September 1994 and challenged “Dr. Death” Steve Williams for the UWF World Heavyweight Championship.

• On 6 February 1995, Lawler regained the USWA Unified World Heavyweight Championship from Sid. The two later teamed up but continued to fight, with Sid briefly winning and losing the title again in August 1996.

• On 20 February 1995, Sid Eudy returned to the WWF as the bodyguard for Shawn Michaels and accompanied him to WrestleMania XI.

• Sid caused Michaels to lose the match at WrestleMania XI by distracting the referee, which allowed Diesel to retain the WWF Championship.

• The next night on Raw, Sid Eudy attacked Michaels after Michaels expressed dissatisfaction with his interference.

• Sid Eudy then joined the Million Dollar Corporation and challenged Diesel for the WWF Championship at the first In Your House event, but lost by disqualification after Tatanka interfered.

• He and Tatanka later lost a tag team match to Diesel and Bam Bam Bigelow at King of the Ring, and Sid lost a lumberjack match to Diesel at In Your House 2.

• Sid Eudy was again scheduled to fight with Shawn Michaels, but their scheduled match at SummerSlam was replaced by Razor Ramon vs. Michaels due to a decision by WWF President Gorilla Monsoon.

• On 5 September 1995, in an episode of Raw, he lost to Michaels after taking three superkicks. He then briefly fought with Henry Godwinn, winning at In Your House 3.

• On 13 November 1995, in an episode of Raw, Sid, with help from The 1–2–3 Kid, defeated Razor Ramon in a non-title match after The 1–2–3 Kid joined the Million Dollar Corporation.

• After that, at Survivor Series, Sid helped The 1–2–3 Kid become the sole survivor in their elimination match.

• Later, Sid Eudy and Michaels were paired in a “Wild Card” match. In the match, Sid was eliminated by Razor Ramon after Michaels hit him with a superkick.

• He and The 1–2–3 Kid lost to Razor Ramon and Marty Jannetty at In Your House 5, and Sid’s team also lost the first-ever Raw Bowl match.

• Shortly after, Sid suffered a serious neck injury and left the WWF.

• Sid Eudy, also known as “Sycho Sid,” had a disturbed career filled with highs and lows, both in the ring and outside. After his return to WWF on 8 July 1996, Eudy adopted the name “Sycho Sid.”

• Soon, he became a fan favourite, replacing The Ultimate Warrior in a six-man tag team match at In Your House 9: International Incident, teaming with Shawn Michaels and Ahmed Johnson against Vader, Owen Hart, and The British Bulldog.

• Sid’s fight with The British Bulldog peaked in a match at SummerSlam 1996, where Sid won.

• His rivalry with Vader was also notable. Sid defeated Vader at In Your House 11: Buried Alive to become the number one contender for the WWF Championship.

• At the Survivor Series 1996, Sid defeated Shawn Michaels to win the WWF Championship.

• Sid’s WWF Championship career saw successful defences against top wrestlers like Bret Hart, whom he defeated at In Your House 12: It’s Time.

• Sid Eudy regained the WWF Championship on 17 February 1997. He lost the title to The Undertaker at WrestleMania 13, after which he sustained a neck injury that sidelined him for some time.

• His career continued in WCW, where he returned in June 1999 as “The Millennium Man.” He captured the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship from Chris Benoit and engaged in a bloody fight with Bill Goldberg. Sid lost the title at Halloween Havoc due to excessive bleeding.

• Sid Eudy won the WCW World Heavyweight Championship twice in 2000. However, his career was spoiled by a severe leg injury at the Sin pay-per-view in January 2001, where he broke his leg in an accident during a match.

• This injury kept him away from wrestling for a long period. He went through a lengthy rehabilitation process, but he was never able to get his previous form.

• Sid Eudy was facing some legal troubles in 2011.

• After WCW’s closure, he often appeared in various independent promotions and returned to WWE in 2012 for a short period.

• Apart from being a wrestler, Sid Eudy was also an actor who appeared in many films alongside fellow wrestlers. These films include River of Darkness (2011) and Tears of Bankers (2012).

• In August 2024, after his death, a tribute to Sid was aired on an episode of WWE Raw.

• During an in-ring event, Damian Priest alongside Rhea Ripley, paid homage to Sid Eudy while repeating Sid’s famous slogan “We are the masters and rulers of this world.”
