Controversies | Accused of Impropriety and Misconduct In 2009, the Leader of Opposition of Municipal Corporation of Delhi, Jai Kishan Sharma, accused Vijender of misconduct and unethical behavior. He alleged that the Sampurna NGO founded by Vijender's wife received disproportionately large amounts of funding from the MCD, with no proper accounting for the funds. He further claimed that the NGO had used MCD-allotted space for commercial purposes. - While he was in college, he became active in students politics and joined the Janta Vidyarthi Morcha.
- In 1980, he was appointed as the secretary of Janta Vidyarthi Morcha.
- After serving the position for three years, Vijender became the Joint Convener of Janta Vidyarthi Morcha.
- He served as the Vice President of Students’ Union at the University of Delhi from 1984 to 1985.
