A few days later, a video circulated on social media which showed Vishnu Deo Sai abusing a person on the phone and threatening to bury him alive after beheading him. The person was later identified as a CREDA (Chhattisgarh State Renewable Energy Development) official named Sandeep Banjare. When Sai was criticised for his language, he apologised for the incident. |

- Vishnu Deo Sai is an Indian politician, farmer, and social worker. He is a popular tribal leader of Chhattisgarh who has been associated with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for more than 30 years and became the Chief Minister (CM) of Chhattisgarh in 2023. He has served three terms as MLA, four terms as an MP, and Union Minister of State.
- After completing his formal education, he entered politics and won a Sarpanch election unopposed in his village Bagia in the 1980s. He later contested MLA elections for the first time in 1990 by selling a part of his property, which he later won.
- He has served as a Member of Parliament (MP) in four consecutive Lok Sabha terms, from the 13th Lok Sabha in 1999 to the 16th Lok Sabha in 2014. He has also served as Union Minister of State in Narendra Modi’s cabinet.
- He has served as the Head of Chhattisgarh BJP on multiple occasions, from 2006 to 2010, from 2013 to 2016, and from 2020 to 2022.
