- Yuvraj Samra grew up in Brampton, Canada and started playing cricket at the age of seven or eight in the Toronto District Cricket Association.
- His father, Baljit Samra, earlier played cricket and introduced him to the game during childhood. His mother, Hoshiar Samra, and father supported him by attending every practice and match regularly.
- His father was in the restaurant business and spent significant time supporting his cricket training. Yuvraj began playing professional regional cricket at the age of sixteen or seventeen.
- He trained daily and sometimes practiced three to four hours without refusing sessions. He often reviewed his own performances to identify strengths and areas for improvement.
