  • Mushtaq Khan was always active as an actor and anchor in his school dramas and plays. He won many awards for acting in college and was the secretary of his college’s cultural society.
  • He worked in over 300 films in his almost 3-decade-long career.
  • In December 2024, he hit the headlines after he claimed that he was kidnapped on the Delhi-Meerut Highway, like Sunil Pal, when he was on his way to attend an event. He claimed that the kidnappers tortured him for 12 hours and demanded a ransom of Rs. 1 Crore; however, when he failed to pay the amount, they took Rs. 2 lakh from him.
  • He later escaped from the kidnappers and reached a police station, who lodged an FIR and helped him get back to Mumbai.
  • Thereafter, the UP Police arrested four of the kidnappers who later revealed that they had planned on similarly kidnapping Shakti Kapoor. However, it did not happen as he had demanded a lot of money for fees.
  • Mushtaq Khan died at Nanavati Hospital in Mumbai on 24 September 2026. His son Mohsin said he was admitted after complaining of stomach pain and was later found to have cancer.
